Our Live Discussion Series – Adding Value Through Clarity

In 2024, Marsh Fidelity has been hosting a series of live discussions on our Instagram page. The purpose of these discussions is to provide educational insights into the areas we specialize in and the work we do, and to bring clarity to our community. These discussions are part of our greater contribution to society and one of the ways we are adding value to the community.

Our regular guest and co-host of most of the live discussions is ‘Law Mom’ Lisa Thomas, an admitted Advocate, Mediator and Legal Educator. Like Marsh Fidelity, Lisa is passionate about educating the public on law, breaking down legal concepts and terminology, and providing clarity to the community.

In our first live discussion, held on 19 February 2024, Marsh Fidelity Director Daniel Marsh and Lisa Thomas discussed choosing the best executor, estate planning for new parents and parents of minor children, and the law surrounding estate and trust administration. In the second live discussion, held on 24 April 2024, Marsh Fidelity team member, Ariana Dwyer spoke to Lisa about the legal requirements for a valid will, non-legal requirements that are advisable to include in a will, and important estate-planning documents. For our fourth live discussion, we invited a special guest, Eulenda Lebese-Cussons, to discuss property ownership and protecting your estate. Eulenda is an admitted Attorney, Notary and Conveyancer, and owner of a property law firm, Lebese-Cussons Attorneys based in Cape Town.

In this discussion, Eulenda shared tips on property ownership and what to consider when owning property in different countries. Daniel touched on additional estate planning tips to take into consideration when you own property and other assets in various countries, and Ariana discussed the advantages of forming a trust when building a property portfolio.
